BEGIN WHERE THE BIBLE BEGINS

By Pastor D. Burrus

Turn your Bible to Genesis Chapter one: verse one.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.   When you have time sit down and read verses 1 – 31 of the Book of Genesis Chapter 1.

When you get to know lots of Christians you find out that many never get to the Old testament, they get stuck in the New Testament and end up as New Testament only Christians.

There is nothing bad about this do not get me wrong, I love Jesus with all my heart and call out to Him many times a day for what He done for me.

Let me explain what I am getting at:-

The bible begins with the words  “In the beginning, God”  (Genesis 1 verse 1)  Without God, there is no beginning.  When sharing the Gospel and witnessing to our generation, it is imperative that we present the Gospel by starting where the Bible begins... “IN THE BEGINNING, GOD.”

Nearly every Christian at one time or another has encountered a “New Testament only” Gospel promoter.   “New Testament” evangelism assumes that unbelievers already have an understanding and belief in the God of the Bible.

We must teach the true Christianity. The true Christianity is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holly Spirit. Yes we can be a follower of Jesus, I am but I do not neglect Our Father and the Holly Spirit.  I follow Jesus, I pray to our Father and I speak in tongues through the Holly Spirit.

However, in today’s world, where millions of people are following some sort of religion or other which are well-beaten path to hell, may be misguided.

In order to clearly and intelligently present the fact that we all need to be saved from our sins, it is usually a good idea to explain to the unbeliever how humankind managed to get into such a deplorable situation in the first place.  Without presenting the biblical account that man was created in a perfect, sinless condition, the fall of man and the subsequent sentence of death cannot be understood.

However, when the holiness of our eternal Creator God is recognised, in contrast with the un-holiness of mortal, degenerate men and women, His gracious and redemptive power becomes a welcome alternative.

So when witnessing to some one, begin where the Bible begins.
